Learn how to conduct a performance review of your ‘actual live performance’, vs. your ‘trading plan’s mechanical benchmark’.
1. Backtest the previous month, quarter, 6 months... and build a performance benchmark for that period of time.
2. Review actual performance compared to the benchmark and find any insights, lessons, flaws, adjustments.
3. Review and catalog insights so you have a list of all the trading insights, lessons you’ve ever gained.
4. Decide if any of those insights need to be added to your current trading plan (making sure you have enough data… if not, move the insights over to the next review).
